Innovations in Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry refers to the repairing of a tooth using synthetic resins. It also includes dental implants to replace missing tooth, maxillofacial surgery and amalgam filling. Mostly biomaterials are used to restore oral health. Biomaterials include biocompatible synthetic materials like cementum, enamel. Current research includes joining of resin-based composites to ensure maintenance of restorative dental materials and hard tissues of the tooth. A research survey conducted by Grand View Research indicated the global cosmetic dentistry market to reach $27.95 billion$ by the year 2024. It was also predicted that the global oral hygiene market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4% through the year 2020. Among many cosmetic procedures, some of the most common cosmetic procedures are teeth whitening and alignment correction.
